Asher’s Chocolate Co. is a family-owned and operated company that has spanned four generations over 130 years in the Philadelphia area. Starting off with just two chocolate coating machines and remaining a small, local candy business for almost 70 years, Asher’s has seen remarkable growth over the past several decades as we continue to add products to our inventory.  We have one of the largest lines of sugar-free candy in the country, and have won awards to celebrate our confectionary delights. Today, we have two production locations in Pennsylvania, including a state-of-the-art production facility and a handcrafting facility, two retail stores, a strong online presence and over 150 employees.

Functional area: Production

Shift schedule:
Our production positions run on two primary shifts, however; hours may vary depending on the position.

First Shift: 7:00 am-3:30 pm

Second Shift: 3:30pm – 12:00 am

Working at Asher’s, you need to know that we:

• Asher’s makes the safety of our Associates our top priority. Safety is everyone’s responsibility and it starts with each Associate at every level of the company.
• Asher’s makes a large variety of products, and follows strict manufacturing practices (GMPs) to ensure that we have a quality product. Makeup, nail-polish/artificial nails, highly scented products, clothing contain objects, and jewelry are not permitted on the production floor.  Asher’s provides a smock, hair net, beard net, earplugs, and gloves to make sure that our product is of the highest quality and ensure the safety of our employees. Appropriate footwear for the specific production area must be wore at all times.
• We are family owned and operated. We are exceptionally proud of our history. Our products represent 125 years of quality and tradition.
• The process of making candy can be challenging.  Many factors go into creating our products. The work environment can be hot, cold, noisy, and/or very fast paced. You will regularly work on your feet for long periods of time, have repetitive motions with hands, elbows, shoulders, arms and legs, perform lifting of up to 35 pounds, and be asked to comprehend instructions (written and verbal) in English.  However, these challenges are worth it to maintain Asher’s high standards and to provide a work environment that our Associates can be proud to be a part of.
